Callander Constructions named as finalist in 2025 NSW Master Builders Association Awards
Leading Mudgee construction company, Callander Constructions, has been named as a finalist in the 2025 NSW Master Builders Association (MBA) Excellence in Housing & Pool Awards - the state’s most prestigious building awards.
The company’s multi-million-dollar Bleak House project has been selected as a finalist in the Historical House Restorations category, making it one of the best heritage restoration projects in NSW.
In assessing the project, the judging panel was thoroughly impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of the project, which took more than three years to complete.
Callander Constructions undertook extensive design and construction work on the circa 1860 heritage-listed home, including the restoration of many of the property’s period features.
With a brief to return the property to its former glory, while seamlessly integrating modern elegance, the Callander Constructions team undertook expert work across the build to preserve the property’s rich history, while also adding new spaces.
Commenting on the nomination, Callander Constructions founder and director, Richie Callander, said: “We are thrilled with our nomination in this year’s NSW MBA Excellence Awards. We’re incredibly proud of the meticulous work we undertook on Bleak House - the
final result is a home that blends historic charm with modern luxury, and perfectly articulates the client’s vision.”
The NSW MBA Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievements in residential building and pool construction across the state. The awards celebrate excellence, innovation and quality in the industry, showcasing the best in project homes, contract building and renovations. All projects are assessed by a judging panel of industry experts.
The latest award nomination follows Callander Constructions’ ongoing success at both the Western Region and NSW Master Builders Association Awards. Last year, the business’ Moggs Lane pool was named Best Swimming Pool under $500,000 at the Western Region Awards, while in 2023, its Myrtle Brae Farm project received the Best Kitchen Project, Best House Addition/Alteration/Renovation and Best Use of Timber nods.
This year’s winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on September 6.
