Callander Constructions named Residential Builder of the Year at MBA Western Region Excellence in Building Awards

Leading Mudgee construction company, Callander Constructions, has been named Residential Builder of the Year for Western NSW, making it the best home building company in the Central West for 2025.

The company beat out dozens of Western NSW builders to receive the honour on August 15 at the Master Builders Association (MBA) 2025 Western Region Excellence in Building Awards.

Callander Constructions also received the Best Historic Restoration over $2 million award for its Bleak House project, along with Best Granny Flat over $300,000 award for its Buckaroo Cabin project.

Commenting on the wins, Callander Constructions founder and director, Richie Callander, said: “We are absolutely over the moon with our success at this year’s Western Region awards. We’re indebted to the MBA for its continued recognition for our work - to have our creativity, our attention to detail and our commitment to our projects recognised publicly is overwhelming; it’s a testament to the outstanding quality of our work.

“Awards like this are a team effort - we’re incredibly lucky to have clients who trust us implicitly with their builds and allow us to bring their inspiration to life, and also to have a dedicated, hard-working team, who are proud of the work they deliver for Callander Constructions.”

The awards follow Callander Constructions’ highly successful run in the Western Region competition - last year, the business’ Moggs Lane pool was named Best Swimming Pool under $500,000, while in 2023, its Myrtle Brae Farm project received the Best Kitchen Project, Best House Addition/Alteration/Renovation and Best Use of Timber nods.

The Western Region MBA Excellence Awards recognise outstanding building and construction projects, workmanship, innovation and teamwork within the Central West and Orana regions.

Callander Constructions has also been named as a finalist at the 2025 NSW Master Builders Association Excellence in Building Awards for its Bleak House project. Winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on September 6.
